The Shack School of fire

Where we show you how to get the best from your BBQ

The Festive Shack Event

A huge thank you to everyone that came to our Festive Shack Event even though the temperatures were just above freezing. We had our Moorland Fire Pit light though with a few steaks, ribs and other delicious food yes even asparagus.

We had guests making pizza, trying the delicious Winner Winner Chicken Dinner Butter Maple Turkey smoked on our Traeger Ironwood along with our honey maple smoked duck also smoked on the Traeger. The star of the night I think may have been the maple glazed smoked ham, funnily enough smoked on our Traeger. Also smoked on the Ironwood we had maple glazed carrots and sprouts smoked alongside bacon strips and peach and herb pork stuffing balls.

We also had our Masterbuilt 800 on the go smoking Winner Winner Chicken Dinner Wings, our Blackstone on the go making smashed turkey and taties burgers, yes they were awesome plus some masterclasses in home barista and how to get the best from your espresso and espresso based drinks.

Oh my, I wish I had made the effort and come along to this event” I hear you cry and cry you should as our events just get bigger and better! Unfortunately that is it for 2024, we have done an event a month since May and I think next year we may kick them off a bit earlier with another Fire Shack Event so keep an eye on our website, social media or better still sign up to our newsletter (see link below) which we occasionally send out!

The Shack School of fire

events throughout the year

We run events throughout the year to help you get the most from your BBQ purchase from The Barbecue Shack. Our resident expert Si Gill (No Smoke Without Fire BBQ & Pizza) has a slot every month throughout Spring & Summer as well as guest chefs provided by our suppliers.

A BBQ School With A Difference – what is so different about our BBQ School, our School of Fire? Well we have decided that we will build the school and the classes around you. What the 2023 season taught us was that quite a few people wanted to attend the classes that we put on but couldn’t make the dates that we had set them for. Some could make the date but didn’t want the class that we had scheduled so with this in mind we have decided to let you guys design the class and set a date.

A BBQ School With A Difference

How will it work?

Well, we have a minimum of three and a maximum of six per class, you and a minimum of two mates and up to five friends come up with at least two Saturdays that you could attend a class and let us know what you would like to learn at that class. For example, you might all want to concentrate on Low n Slow smoking or Smash Burgers, Fajitas & wings or setting up your barbecue and cooking steaks and veg. We can run on a kamado, a kettle, a Traeger, a Masterbuilt, a Gozney Dome or a Roccbox, a DeleVita outdoor oven or maybe even a Napoleon Rogue. Within reason, we can tailor the class to your needs with your style of barbecue to run on a Saturday or a weekday evening maybe during British Summer Time. So have a word with your mates, come up with a class and a few dates that you would all like to attend and ask us to put on a class.

How much?

For a Saturday Class, the fee is £400 for a five hour class whether that be three of you or six of you. For a weekday evening three hour session the fee is £250 for the class again whether that be three of you or six of you. The class is yours when paid for, we will not be adding extra people into the class unless you ask us to which we will happily advertise but cannot guarantee additional attendees. Once you have an idea for a class either pop in or contact the details below with your requirements and we will do our best to put a class on for you.

Please note we do not run classes on Sundays, Bank Holiday or Saturday evenings
